Castro Dual Immersion

The Spanish-English Dual Immersion (DI) Program at Castro Elementary School is a K - 5th grade, choice program in the Mountain View Whisman School District. This Program brings together Spanish and English speaking students and families in a school that is bilingual, multicultural, and academically enriching.

The goals of the Dual Immersion program are for students to:

• Develop fluency and literacy in two languages: Spanish and English
• Meet or exceed state and district guidelines in all academic subjects
• Develop high self-esteem and confidence
• Cultivate an understanding and appreciation of other cultures, preparing them for a multicultural world
